Sam Washington Biog
When Sam was 7 years old, he accidentally wandered onto the set of Magnum PI while it was being filmed in his hometown in Kent, and he has been obsessed with film-making ever since...
Sam has gained a wealth of experience in the industry working as both an editor and an agency creative.
Last year, Sam won the Smoke and Mirrors 48 hour film competition with his film ‘Lost and Found’.... Gary Szabo – MD of Smoke & Mirrors and 48 Hour Competition Organiser – as he announced the winning film said “One of the judges wanted to give this film a perfect 10, but we had to talk them out of it as that would mean someone would have made the perfect 48 hour film and we would have to shut the competition down. So, they gave it a 9.5”
'Lost & Found' has gone on to make Official Selection at London Independent, Austin and the BAFTA and Oscar qualifying Palm Springs International Shortfest, where it won an Audience Choice Award.
Sam’s first short film ‘Lab Rats’ won the Best Short Film award at Moondance, Silicon Valley Film Festival, The Ventura Film Festival and The SLO International Film Festival as well as the Best Foreign Short award at The Los Angeles Comedy Festival, where it also picked up nominations for Best Director, Best Writer and Best Ensemble Cast as well as 6 nominations at the Maverick Movie Awards including Best Picture and Best Director.
Sam's work has as much energy as he does; he's into snowboarding surfing and skateboarding.
