When Sam was 7 years old, he accidentally wandered onto the set of Magnum PI while it was being filmed in his hometown in Kent, and he has been obsessed with film-making ever since...
Sam has gained a wealth of experience in the industry working as both an editor and an agency creative.
Sam’s reel reflects one of his main loves... Sports (Sam is a very accomplished surfer and snowboarder) this passion has helped develop his expertise and reputation for working with major sports stars such as Cesc Fabregas, Theo Walcott, Kevin Pietersen, Eric Cantona, Ashley Young, Patrice Evra, Dimitar Berbatov and Lionel Messi, and on brands such as Footlocker and Adidas
Sam’s first short film ‘Lab Rats’ has already won the Best Short Film award at Moondance, Silicon Valley Film Festival, The Ventura Film Festival and The SLO International Film Festival as well as the Best Foreign Short award at The Los Angeles Comedy Festival, where it also picked up nominations for Best Director, Best Writer and Best Ensemble Cast. Lab Rats has also just received 6 nominations at the Maverick Movie Awards – Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Editing and Best Supporting Actor....
More recently Sam Washington won the Smoke and Mirrors 48 hour film competition with his film ‘Lost and Found’.... Gary Szabo – MD of Smoke & Mirrors and 48 Hour Competition Organiser – as he announced the winning film said “One of the judges wanted to give this film a perfect 10, but we had to talk them out of it as that would mean someone would have made the perfect 48 hour film and we would have to shut the competition down. So, they gave it a 9.5”
Following an Official Selection at the BAFTA and Oscar qualifying Palm Springs International Shortfest, 'Lost & Found' won an Audience Choice Award.
Sam is signed to Another Film Company for worldwide representation.
